Relaxation & Breath Work

Relaxation and restoration are recommended as you will be working your body to new limits. An overwhelming number of people breath incorrectly!!! As a result, this causes their bodies to enter the fight/flight stress response (i.e. sympathetic nervous system) without even being aware of it! Proper breathing is a requirement to manage your physiological and psychological stress loads. You will be assessed for and taught proper breathing mechanics. You will be offered daily breath work sessions.

Nutrition & Hydration

We will carefully assess your nutritional and hydration needs including relationships between diet, internal organ stress, lifestyle factors and musculoskeletal pain that cause you to fall short of your health goals. We offer Assessments regarding these lifestyle factors (i.e. Metabolic Type) and we will teach you about what macro and micro nutrients to eat and why. You will be taught on how to assess yourself with each meal regarding your energetic, mental, emotional, and physical response. You will learn to listen to your body’s needs with a heightened level of sensitivity. Lastly, we will teach you about what is proper hydration, why hydration is important, and best lifestyle practices for hydration.

Meditation & Silence

The ever increasing awareness of the significance of a daily meditation practice is not only self-evident by those who practice meditation but is now been validated through the Scientific Literature. The power of meditation is that it offers each person the ability to connect within and find harmony and balance with one’s body-mind. This balance offers the equanimity to manage self with all of the demands of life in addition to environmental stressors. We will explore and practice daily various meditation techniques including walking meditation as one example.

Sleep Hygiene

Sleep hygiene is a variety of different practices and habits that are necessary to have good nighttime sleep quality and full daytime alertness. Obtaining healthy sleep is important for both physical and mental health. It can also improve productivity and overall quality of life. Everyone, from children to older adults, can benefit from practicing good sleep habits. We will share best practices associated with sleep hygiene AND how our unresolved mental and emotional stressors undermine our sleep.

Resolve & Manage Pain: Daily Yoga, Corrective Exercises, Nature Hiking

Work-0ut:

MyBodyMind Connection Retreat utilizes the power of yoga to assist in your fitness journey as well as the benefits it provides from the inside out.  Our guests are challenged to consider new perspectives and reach inward to work on their awareness to start living their best life now. You will be offered the opportunity to move and release emotional blocks through movement. In addition, explore and experience your body & mind through various hiking adventures across the beautiful terrain of Peru (see nature hiking below).

Work-In: Energy Exercises

Work-In exercises increase the amount of energy in the body rather than using up energy. Types of Work-In exercises include Zone Exercises such as tai chi, qi gong, and gentle forms of yoga. You will learn how to assess for your daily energy needs, manage your needs based upon your daily demands, and determine which exercises (Work-Outs/Work-Ins) are needed for thriving personally and professionally. These exercises help shift one’s energy and embedded emotions that have been stuck in the body which can now be released which fosters healing in the body and mind.

RISE & SHINE YOGA 8:30am - 9:30am Monday thru Saturday: Wake up and begin your day or stretch after workout with a slow, gentle flow. Set an intention for your day while creating a solid foundation of physical and mental awareness. Leave feeling grounded, clear and centered.

STRENGTH & FLOW YOGA 9:30am-10:30Aam Monday Thru Saturday: Flow thru series of postures and exercise that focus on strength, balance, and flexibility. Change the way you look, think, and feel... Body & Mind.

SUNSET BEACH GUIDED MEDITATION 6:00pm -6:45pm Monday thru Friday: Turn inward and find sanctuary for rejuvenation and relaxation. Feel wildly open to receiving and letting go of that which is no longer serving you.

Beach Workouts 7:30am -8:20am Monday thru Friday: Designed for beginners to advanced. Get your HEART pumping and SWEAT dripping...

Corrective Exercises (Mobilization & Postural Corrective Exercises)

Corrective Exercises are designed to target specific muscular imbalances. These imbalances are typically rooted in mental and emotional trauma and conditioning which occurred during the earlier phases of life. We will introduce specific exercises for each client during the retreat and help them acquire the skills necessary to successfully practice when you return home. These types of exercises that we introduce will also include a form of mindfulness practice. Bringing mindfulness to these exercises offers the opportunity to be curious and open to whatever shows up. Lowers your risk of heart disease.

  • Improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

  • Boost bone density, since walking is a weight-bearing exercise.

  • Build strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and the muscles in your hips and lower legs.

Reconcile Self-Sabotage Patterns

Unearth and understand which stories we have created in our lives that have been driven by past trauma, loss, and social conditioning. As a result, we will learn how we project unconsciously onto life and undermine ourselves and the very thing we logically say we want. For example, have you ever wondered why you have a pattern that when you are close to achieving a goal and yet you always seem to get injured? Other more common self-sabotaging behaviors include procrastination, self-medication with drugs or alcohol, comfort eating, and forms of self-injury such as cutting. Do you wonder why you unconsciously resist your full potential? Take back control by becoming aware of the difference between responding and reacting to life. Lean into your being and look inside to facilitate living a more conscious and responsive life. Finally release that which does not serve you!

Discover & Embrace Your Hidden Parts & Pieces

Identify through several mental and emotional exercises and discussions just how much your cultural and family beliefs have been subconsciously adopted that drives how you are reacting to life (seeking approval, the need to feel like you belong to a specific group, and unconscious motives to emotional needs met). Explore with courage and curiosity what is behind your personal curtain hiding and learn ways to divest yourself of your old yet sometimes unrecognized parts and pieces. We will explore how to learn to parent self once we find these hidden parts and pieces. We will explore what might be considered as healthy self Co-dependency practices , what is the 80/20 rule of dependency in relationships and partnerships.

Living with a North Star: Living with Clarity of Purpose, Vision & Values

Happiness is not really “an emotion” so-to-speak, but a “state of being.” Happiness is a state of being connected to what you are creating in and of yourself first and foremost. Therefore, a person is happy when they are in a state of mind/heart (inner well-being) or harmony with what they are creating. Furthermore, when we live life WITHOUT inner clarity based upon a lack of personal Purpose/Vision/Values we immediately introduce to ourselves stress within the body-mind. We fragment our lives and inner parts and pieces which drains us energetically, emotionally, mentally, and physically due to a lack of a holistic integration. During the retreat we will explore through various exercises what our True North (Purpose) really is, how to create a vision that supports the execution of your purpose, and develop subsequent values that brings awareness for the daily management of healthy boundaries and limitations.

MONDAY: What do you REALLY want to change? Providing windows of experience that trigger reality shifts, sparking your curiosity to help you help yourself.

TUESDAY: The observer is the creator. Observation and experience create our perception. Become the witness, observer, and experiencer of your mind (thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, associations).

WEDNESDAY: Does your unique self-lenz define you and your world? Remove labels and become less rigid. Turn judgement into compassion and respect. "I appreciate your experience."

THURSDAY: No longer be consumed by your internal experience. Lean into Chaos (uneasiness caused by colliding energies) by adding the energy of awareness (observer) and it will order itself.

FRIDAY: Create your Reality. Witness yourself doing, being, thinking, feeling... creating your own energy... writing your story

For information on procedures and policies in regard to Covid please follow the link https://info.amresorts.com/coronavirus-covid-19-status. I have done A Lot of traveling the past several months and have felt absolutely safe at the three Secrets locations I’ve taught at.

At this time there are no special requirement for mexico. I will work to keep you updated. You must wear a mask to travel. Alaska is not filling middle seats to my knowledge. American Airlines has been crowed. I felt safe on both but would absolutely fly Alaska for their higher level of service.
